Regina Police have arrested and charged a 34-year-old man, after witnessing him walking down an alley with two large knives in sheaths attached to his hips.

Police say they were called to 3rd Avenue and King Street in the city’s north central area just after 10:00 p.m. Monday night.

After a brief foot chase the man was arrested.

Thirty-four-year-old Owen Burhof, was charged with possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Burhof will be in court at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.
