Charges come out of police raid on home west of downtown Regina

A 42-year-old man and a 25-year-old man, both from Regina, are facing charges after a break and enter investigation led to a home being raided Wednesday night on the 1900 block of St. John Street.

A person or persons have broken into a business on the 500 block of Victoria Avenue where equipment was removed.  An investigation led police to the home where the SWAT team was called in because of a threat to public and police safety and the possible presence of firearms.

Several people left the home and were detained with six having unrelated warrants for their arrests.  One woman ignored police commands to leave the home.  She was located by a police dog which resulted in her having to be taken to hospital for treatment after being bitten on the arm.  A search of the home found the equipment stolen from the Victoria Avenue business along with a sawed off .22 calibre rifle and a bike stolen in a separate incident.

Paul McKay and Jeremy Hill are facing firearms and stolen property charges and will be in court in October.
