Two teens charged in connection to Queen City Ex bear spray incident

Two Regina teens are facing charges in connection to the bear spray incident over the weekend at the Queen City Ex.

Just before 6:00 PM on Saturday, officers and Evraz Place security staff learned of the bear spray incident in the eastern section of the midway. Several victims had reported symptoms consistent of a bear spray exposure.

Security was able to detain two teenaged boys who had a canister of bear spray and a BB gun described as a “very realistic Glock-styled” gun.

Both youths can’t be named due to their age, but a 15-year-old faces three charges:

  • Possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to public peace (BB gun),
  • Breach of undertaking,
  • Mischief under $5,000.

meanwhile a 13-year-old faces four charges:

  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon (bear spray),
  • Mischief under $5,000,
  • Carrying a concealed weapon,
  • Possession of a prohibited weapon.

Both appeared in court Monday morning.
