Severe thunderstorm warnings and watches issued for southwest Saskatchewan

Environment Canada has issued severe thunderstorm watches and warnings for the southwest corner of Saskatchewan Monday evening.

Warnings are in effect for areas surrounding Kindersley and Rosetown as well as Swift Current. The storm cell could produce very strong wind gusts, up to toonie sized hail, and at times heavy rain.

Watches are in effect for areas as far east as Moose jaw and Assiniboia.

The weather office says as the storm moves to the northeast, there is a slight chance of tornadoes.

There is a funnel cloud weather advisory in effect for the Llooydminster area as of 5:30 PM Monday evening.
