Tickets still available for Lumsden Duck Derby

Tickets are still available for the annual Lumsden Duck Derby coming up on the September Long Weekend.

With the event not going ahead last year due to COVID-19, the organizing committee is hoping for a big push to sell tickets, with the hope being they can sell all 25,000 of the tickets.

Chair of the organizing committee Jamie Lees says it’s a whole weekend event.

“We’re starting the kick-off on Friday of the long weekend with a ‘Jail N’ Bail’ in our town,” Lees said. “We’re going to get different community organizations coming, and their bail is set to sell one book of tickets, so they have to do that in order to be released, that should be pretty exciting.”

Lees says the funds raised will go to the Lumsden Community Rink.

“That’s what keeps the costs low for the overhead projects that we have to do, there’s a lot of big projects that are coming down the line: a roof, an ice plant, things like that.”

Tickets are available at local businesses in Lumsden or online by clicking here.
