Delta variant cases double in Saskatchewan; 187 new cases

Saskatchewan has seen its number of Delta variant cases double in a month.

On July 21st, there were 505 cases of the Delta variant, that has risen to 1,224 as of Saturday.

Saskatoon leads the way with new cases with 36, followed by the North East, and Regina with 22.

The province say more than one third of Saturday’s new cases are in people aged 20-39.

1,478 cases are considered active.

89 people are in hospital, including 15 in intensive care.

An additions 4,064 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were administered Friday. There are 684,023 residents fully vaccinated.
