A 28-year-old man is facing three charges of sexual assault, assault with a weapon, assault and invitation to sexual touching after three incidents over the past couple of months involving children.
Nhigel Ceredon has already appeared in court earlier this month, but was back in provincial court today (Friday) to deal with the assault charge.
Regina Police say on May 30, a man allegedly approached two children at Westhill Park in the city’s northwest. He tried to lead a five-year-old boy away from the park but another child intervened and the man left.
In the second incident, a man was allegedly making sexually suggestive statements to children at a west-end park on July 10. Police were called and found a man matching the description that had been provided to them.
On August 7, a woman told police a man on a bike approached her two children and allegedly touched one in a sexual manner and tried to touch the second child. In that incident, the children’s parents confronted the man who became combative and reportedly took off his belt to use as a weapon. While being transported by police the next day, he allegedly rubbed up an RPS officer before being pulled away.
