Two Regina males facing drug and firearm charges after police investigation

Two Regina males are facing drug and firearm charges after a police operation and investigation into drug trafficking.

On Wednesday, a Controlled Drugs and Substance Act search warrant was authorized for police to search at a residence on the 1400 block of Cameron Street. Investigators believed there was potentially firearms inside, so a request was made to have the Special Weapons and Tactics team to assist the search. There were nine people inside of the residence, seven were released without further police action required.

Two adult males were arrested for drug trafficking. A search of the residence a ledger with a record of drug transactions, methamphetamine and psilocybin, cash and two firearms. A search of one of the males saw a quantity of a substance believed to be fentanyl.

56 year old Daniel Birkbeck of Regina has been charged with carless use of a firearm, possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to public peace, two counts of possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a scheduled substance and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

42 year old Allan Kyle of Regina has been charged with possession of a scheduled substance.

Both Birkbeck and Kyle will be appearing in Provincial Court in Regina on Thursday at 2:00.
