Nine positive COVID-19 cases confirmed from August 6 Riders game

We have heard from the Saskatchewan Health Authority about possible COVID-19 exposure occurring at the Riders game against B.C. on August 6, as someone in “Pil Country” and someone on a shuttle bus to and from the game operated by Birmingham’s Vodka and Ale House, tested positive.

We are now learning there have been nine positive cases as a result of these two incidents at the game, which was the largest mass gathering held in Canada since the pandemic started in March of 2020, with a sold out crowd of over 33,000 took in the game.

The SHA says if you were associated with any recent exposure alerts, you should keep track of your whereabouts during and after the event in question as well as your vaccine status and if you were wearing a mask while in close contact with others.
