Regina man facing weapons charges after incident involving pellet gun on Monday

A 44-year-old Regina man is facing numerous weapons charges after an incident at a home on the 900 block of Argyle Street this past Monday.

Police say they were sent to the home in north central Regina just after 7:00 p.m.

Investigation revealed that two men inside the home were allegedly assaulted with a pellet gun, one of the men was taken to hospital by EMS to be treated for injuries.

A canine unit was able to track the suspect to a residence on the 1000 block of Queen Street, the suspect was found hiding in the house and the pellet gun was located in a crawlspace.

As a result, 44-year-old Gabriel Yahyahkekoot, is facing a total of eight charges, including assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm.

The accused made his first court appearance on Tuesday.
