Wynyard and Foam Lake RCMP were both dispatched to a fatal single vehicle collision on Highway 16 outside of Foam Lake on Friday.

The investigation has determined a westbound vehicle left the roadway and entered a nearby creek at about 3:45 PM that afternoon. A man from Whitehorse, Yukon was declared deceased at the scene, while a man who was riding passenger received minor injuries.

The family of the deceased has been notified.

Wynyard RCMP and a traffic reconstructionist continue to investigate.
