The Lawson Aquatic Centre will be closed starting on Monday, with some necessary annual work being done as well as some additional upgrades being made.

New projects at the Lawson this year include the installation of two new scoreboards with competition and video capabilities, upgrades to the artistic swimming sound system, upgrades to the universal change room to be fully accessible and the addition of another universal change room directly on the pool deck.

The work on the strength and conditioning area will be complete by August 15, with the pool area needing an additional two weeks to be complete.

Those still looking to use the city’s indoor recreation and fitness facilities are encouraged to visit the Sandra Schmirler and North West Leisure Centres.
