Ottawa extends COVID-19 financial benefits one more month

With growing concerns of a COVID-19 resurgence thanks to the delta variant, Ottawa has said it will be extending some of its pandemic benefits an extra 30 days.

On Friday morning Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland said they will extend the wage subsidy and the rent subsidy as well as the Canada Recovery Benefit, the Canada Recovery Caregiving Benefit and the Canada Recovery Sickness Benefit.

The benefits were set to expire on September 25, the extra 30 days means they will now be offered until October 23rd.
