Moose Jaw police are issuing a warning for those doing activities like walking or jogging at night after a pair of sexual assaults that occurred in the city over the past couple of months.

On June 21st, police received a report of a woman being approached by a man on a bike who sexually assaulted her while she was jogging in the area of 12th Avenue and Lillooet Street West.  The woman resisted causing the suspect to flee the scene.  He was described as caucasian, about 5’11-6 feet tall wearing a black hoodie with a black backpack.

On July 27th, another report was received about a woman who was approached by a man in late April or early May. In that incident, the woman was jogging in the Sunningdale area near Thatcher Drive when she was sexually assaulted. In that case, the woman fought off the attacker causing him to flee.  He was described as thin, caucasian, about 5’9 to 6 feet tall. He was wearing a dark coloured hoodie and black pants.

Moose Jaw police do not know if these incidents are related, but are asking anyone who may have had something similar happen to come forward.

In the meantime, they are telling those who are out at night to stay in well-lit and visible areas, have someone with them as possible, do not wear headphones and do not take the same route every night.
