Monday’s COVID-19 update from province shows one new death and 43 new cases

A person in their 40’s from the Northwest zone has become the 579th person to die in Saskatchewan as a result of COVID-19.

The death was announced on Monday at the same time as we hear about 43 new cases.  The new cases are located in the following zones: Far North West, 12; Far North Central, 1; Far North East, 20; North Central, 1; Saskatoon, 5; South Central, 1; and South West, 1. Two cases are pending residence information.  The active case count now sits at 356 with 36 of those cases in the Regina zone.

There are 55 people in hospital with 10 in intensive care.

Only 2,542 vaccines were handed out on Sunday. 506 of those were first doses with the others given to people who are now fully vaccinated.
