2021-22 school year to look like it was pre-pandemic

Saskatchewan kids are enjoying summer holidays. They don’t have to be back until September, but when they do return it looks as if things will be the way they were before the pandemic.

A Back-To-School plan can be found on the Saskatchewan Teachers Federation website. It shows no masks, no physical distancing or other restrictions that were in place for the school year completed in June that was interrupted by online learning due to high cases a couple of times.

The plan also encourages the need for a high vaccine uptake to protect children ages 11 and under who are not yet able to get vaccinated.

It also states the Ministry of Health will continue to offer best practice advice on how to mitigate the risk of COVID-19 which includes getting vaccinated as soon as you are eligible, staying home when you are sick along with ensuring hand hygiene and proper cleaning.

This is subject to change if conditions warrant.
