The food banks across Saskatchewan have received a big boost from a fund-raiser campaign matched by Viterra.

Last month Viterra matched any donation to a maximum of 100 thousand dollars.

The food banks raised 150 thousand dollars, bringing last months total to 250 thousand dollars.

The executive director of Food Banks of Saskatchewan, Laurie O’Connor, says the funds will be distributed among the 36 food banks across the province.

She says there is growing demand for food across the province and the support is welcome.
