Regina man facing charges after incident early Tuesday morning

Regina police have charged a 29-year old man with a number of charges including forcible confinement and flight from a peace officer after an incident early Tuesday morning in the city’s north end.

Police say just before 3 a.m, a patrol officer noticed a suspicious vehicle in the area of Argyle Street and 3rd Avenue that had been stolen.  Attempts to stop the car with a spike belt failed.  While trying to stop the vehicle, police learned a passenger in the suspect vehicle was being allegedly held against her will.  That person managed to jump out of the car when the vehicle slowed down with the suspect being arrested a short time later on Britton Bay.

George Gambler made his first court appearance on Tuesday afternoon.
