Man arrested after trying to sell more than $38,000 worth of stolen property

A man is in custody after an investigation found more than $38,000 worth of stolen property.

On July 8th, members of the Online Stolen Property Unit were notified of a suspicious man selling, what appeared to be, brand-new merchandise online.

Over the course of several days, investigation led to the recovery of dozens of household items that were confirmed stolen from local business.

Items ranging from camping supplies to power tools to a wakeboard were found stored in a hotel room, vehicle, and storage locker in Regina. Police also found a firearm during the search.

As a result, 56-year-old Joseph Paul Evrard, from Grenfell, has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime for the purpose of trafficking, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and careless storage of a firearm.

Evrard made his first court appearance Wednesday morning.
