Moskaluke to sing Canadian national anthem at MLB All-Star game

Local baseball fans that will be tuning into the Major League Baseball All-Star Game from Denver Tuesday night might recognize a familiar face and voice singing the Canadian national anthem.

Langenburg’s Jess Moskaluke will be part of the festivities singing the anthem ahead of first pitch.

Moskaluke says it’s something that is a few years in the making.

“A few years ago I was actually invited to the All-Star Game and I was unavailable due to the Calgary Stampede, and we had already made prior commitments to play a show there, so we had to turn it down, and they came back” Moskaluke said. “It was actually the (Toronto) Blue Jays that had recommended us to the All-Star organization, so they invited us back.”

She says she’s excited for the opportunity.

“I’m honoured, and proud,” Moskaluke said. “It’s one of my favourite things to do the anthem and I’m really honoured that I get to be the person to represent Canada.”

The MLB All-Star game between the American League and National League teams will begin Tuesday at 5:30 PM Saskatchewan time.
