An investigation is underway after a body was found near Big River early Wednesday morning.

RCMP say they were called around 5:45 a.m. with a report of an assault on two men.  Responding officers discovered the body of one of the two alleged victims in a vehicle on Highway 793 just outside the community, which is two hours north of Saskatoon.

The name of the victim has not been identified, but RCMP say his family has been notified.
