It is now 17 straight days of just double-digit increases when it comes to new cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan.
After Monday’s update which showed just 17 new infections, there are 52 new cases to announce on Tuesday to go along with two more deaths. Those who died, bringing the provincial death total to 568, were someone in their 60’s from the northwest zone and someone in their 70’s from the northcentral zone. 36 more variant cases were also identified by type.
The new cases are located in the following zones: Far North West, 7; Far North East, 1; North West, 12; North Central, 9; Saskatoon, 8; Central West, 2; and Regina, 13.
There are 72 people in hospital. Twelve of those 72 are in the intensive care unit with only two of those 12 in Regina.
The seven-day average of daily new cases now sits at 46.
The province says 80 percent of those over the age of 40 have received their first dose. 75 percent of those 30 and older have received their first dose. 71 per cent of those over the age of 18 have received their first dose, while 70 percent of those 12+ have also received their first dose.
