Moose Jaw man arrested after crashing into car, yard Saturday

A Moose Jaw man is in custody after an incident Saturday.

Police conducted a stop on an SUV without a license plate. The man refused to stop and sped away from police and left city limits.

The vehicle later returned to Moose Jaw and was involved in a collision on the 1000 of Athabasca Street East, where the vehicle collided with another vehicle, a power pole, a fence, and then came to a stop in a yard against a tree.

The driver was trapped and had to be extracted from the vehicle. He was arrested on scene and was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

27-year-old Zackery Marckowski, who was out on Statutory Release, has been charged with flight from police, impaired driving causing bodily harm, dangerous driving causing bodily harm, driving while prohibited, 4 counts of possessing a weapon while prohibited, 2 counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and possession of a prohibited weapon.

Marckowski has also been charged with possession of LSD, and possession of crystal meth for the purpose of trafficking.

He is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
