CN Rail reports good grain movement in May but no record

CN Rail says there was good grain movement in May but no new monthly record.

It breaks the trend of over a year of consecutive months of new records for prairie grain shipments.

CN Rail executive vice president Sean Finn says over 27 million tons of grain have been moved so far this crop year.

Finn says grain shipments so far this crop year are 3.4 million tons higher than last year at the same time.

Finn says CN is still shipping more than 4 thousand grain cars per week.

He says shipments were down in May because of spring seeding, markets and supply.

He adds CN is gearing up for this fall’s harvest.
