Regina Police charge three people in stolen auto case

Two men and a woman, all from Regina, have been charged after their involvement in stealing a vehicle last week.

The Regina Police Service shared in a release on Wednesday that they were aware of a theft of a black Chrysler 300 on June 18 outside of the city.

Police say the vehicle was spotted on the morning of June 22 at a gas station where it’s believed merchandise was stolen from the business. Just before 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, an off-duty officer witnessed the vehicle park on the 4600 block of Albert Street South and watched three people go into a business there.

Officers were called to the area where they arrested 29-year-old Alexis Johnson, 26-year-old Kenneth Manitopyes and 25-year-old Tyson Lerat.

All three have been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. Johnson also faces a charge of theft under $5,000, while Lerat has been charged with failure to comply with conditions of a release order.

The three suspects will make their first court appearances on Wednesday afternoon.
