Attempted murder charges laid after incident on Standing Buffalo First Nation

Charges have been laid after the attempted murder on Standing Buffalo First Nation.

On Tuesday, around 2:30 pm, Fort Qu’Appelle RCMP responded to a report of an injured woman on the First Nation.

Investigated determined a man assaulted a woman at the residence. The woman was transported to hospital with serious injuries, no update has been provided on her condition. Police say the man and woman were known to one another.

The man was located and arrested a short time later without incident.

As a result, Christopher Maple has been charged with one count of attempted murder and will appear in a Fort Qu’Appelle court on Thursday.

Investigation is ongoing.
