SaskPower unveils plans for new wind-power facility in province’s Southeast

SaskPower’s latest utility-scale wind facility has been announced.

Dubbed the Bekevar Wind Energy project, the wind facility will generate 200 mega-watts of clean and renewable energy in southeast Saskatchewan.

It will be constructed north of Moose Mountain Provincial Park, in the R.Ms of Hazelwood and Kingsley , and on the Cowessess First Nation.

When finished, the facility will be able to provide power to as many as 100,000 homes.

Construction is is set to begin in the summer of 2022, with the facility expected to be completed by the end of 2023.
