Residents lining Wolseley streets in honour of Constable Shelby Patton

People are lining a couple of streets in Wolseley as the body of an RCMP officer killed in the town on the weekend returns.

Constable Shelby Patton’s body is being brought back to the Tubman Funeral Home in Wolseley.

The 26-year-old, who was a member of the nearby Indian Head detachment, died Saturday morning after he was hit by a stolen truck that he had stopped.

The two charged in his death, a man and woman from Winnipeg, made their first court appearance on Monday with one appearing again Friday and the other Monday.

RCMP and various businesses in the two towns. east of Regina, asked people to wear red today in honour of Patton.

A private funeral service will be held by Cst. Patton’s family.
