The two people charged in the death of an RCMP officer in the town of Wolseley on Saturday have made their first court appearance.
26-year-old Constable Shelby Patton was killed Saturday morning when he was hit by a truck that he had stopped believing it had been stolen.
41-year-old Alphonse Stanley Traverse, and 42-year-old Marlene Velma Louise Pagee are facing charges with manslaughter, failure to stop after an accident resulting in death, theft of a motor vehicle, possession of stolen property over $5,000 and breach of undertaking for leaving Manitoba.
The pair had their matters adjourned with Pagee being back in court June 18 with Traverse returning June 21.

Meanwhile, the town of Wolseley is still in shock over what has happened.
Mayor Gerald Hill spoke with 620 CKRM Monday morning and says emotions are still quite raw as Patton was well-known in his community of 900.
He says things like this are not supposed to happen in Wolseley and that his community is as devastated as Indian Head where Patton was stationed.
