Regina youth charged after weapons incident

A 17-year-old is facing firearms charges after an incident Wednesday evening.

Regina Police were called to a home on the 200 block of Wascana Street for a report that a young man had entered the home, threatened one of the female residents and pointed a gun at her. The caller stated the suspect had entered the home with two females and following the threats the group left the home on foot.

Officers observed three people walking near the home matching the description provided by the caller. One man and two women were taken into custody. A search turned up on firearm as well as ammunition.

As a result of the investigation, a 17-year-old man is facing numerous charges including pointing a firearm, uttering threats, possession of a prohibited firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a loaded prohibited firearm, possession of a firearm with the serial number removed, and the use of a firearm in the commission of an indictable offence.

The youth made his first court appearance in court Thursday morning.
