Vigil to be held at Sask. Legislature for London Ontario family killed in hate motivated attack

Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. a special vigil will be held at the Saskatchewan Legislature by Regina’s Muslim community for the family of five in London Ontario, who were the victims of a vicious attack, in what police believe was simply because of their faith.

The family was out for a walk Sunday night when a 20-year-old man ran his truck off the road and onto the sidewalk hitting the family, killing four of them.

The only survivor was nine-year-old Fayez Afzaal, his grandmother, 74-year-old Talat Afzaal, 46-year-old father Salman Afzaal, 44-year-old mother Madiha and 15-year-old sister Yumna, were all killed, in what police are calling a hate motivated attack.

The 20-year-old man responsible has been charged with four counts of first degree murder and one count of attempted murder.
