Missing Vibank windmill turns up

Indian Head RCMP says a historic windmill that was believed to be stolen was not stolen at all.

The 41-foot tall, century-old steel windmill went missing from a farm in Vibank sometime between May 16 and 19. After RCMP sent out a request for information regarding this case, the Indian Head detachment received three tips, which helped solve the mystery.

“The missing windmill wasn’t stolen at all. It was the victim of a non-criminal misunderstanding and all parties involved are working toward getting it to its rightful home,” reads a statement from Saskatchewan RCMP on Wednesday.

Tips came in after the request was sent through the Saskatchewan Crime Watch Advisory Network, which allows police to send advisories to residents via a mobile messaging application, text messages, emails or phone calls.

People can sign up to receive Saskatchewan Crime Watch Advisory Network advisories at their website or by downloading the mobile Everbridge app.
