Two Meadow Lake Mounties checked out after possibly being exposed to substance

A pair of RCMP officers from Meadow Lake had to be examined by doctors after potentially inhaling or being exposed to a foreign substance,

A release from the RCMP says they received some complaints about a car that had been reported stolen from Prince Albert was driving erratically on Highway 55 near the city on June 4.

That vehicle was located in the parking lot of a business.

The responding officer tried to arrest the man driving the car when he started backing into the RCMP cruiser with a female passenger trying to prevent the man from being taken into custody resulting in a second officer coming to the scene. Two civilians from inside the business helped the officers take the man into custody with the woman than exiting and fleeing the vehicle with what was believed to be a firearm. She was arrested a short distance away.

Immediately after the arrests, the responding officers started experiencing symptoms that may have been associated to inhaling or being exposed to a foreign substance. Both are now feeling better,

22-year-old Kiefer Morin from Sandy Bay and 24-year-old Madison Tinker from Saskatoon are facing a variety of charges. They made their first appearance in a Meadow Lake courtroom on Monday.
