Big month for Crime Stoppers

Regina’s Crime Stoppers program is definitely working.

The organization says it has just experienced one of the best months in its 37-year history as 13 tip rewards totalling $1,950 were approved by its board of directors.

In a release, Crime Stoppers says a month like this shows the public is not only hearing the messaging that is given, but they are helping by providing tips that result in crimes in our city being solved.

While Crime Stoppers does not identify specific crimes solved to protect anonymity of tipsters, the tips related to theft, stolen property and violation of public health orders, amongst other infractions. These 13 tips resulted in 18 arrests and 39 charges laid. By means of comparison, 13 arrests and 30 charges were laid in all of 2020 and 25 charges and 62 arrests occurred in 2019.
