Police confirm 16-year-old boy drowned in Moose Jaw River

Moose Jaw Police have confirmed that a 16-year-old boy has died after drowning on Friday. The incident happened in the Moose Jaw River in Wakamow Valley.

A release from the Moose Jaw Police Service on Monday afternoon states that the investigation has been turned over to the coroner’s service.

Early information from the investigation notes that the teenager had been swimming, had gone underwater and could not be located.

Paramedics arrived to the scene and located the teenager. The boy was then transported by STARS ambulance to a Regina hospital.

Police say the no name will be released at this time.
