Fourth straight day of new COVID-19 cases under the 100 mark in Saskatchewan

68 new cases and three deaths.   That is the information contained in the daily update from the Saskatchewan government on the COVID-19 virus.

The three who died, bringing the provincial death total to 549,  were someone aged 19 and under from the northwest zone, someone in their 70’s from the northwest zone and someone in their 60’s from the north-central zone.

The new cases are located in the following zones: Far North East, 2; North West, 12; North Central, 9; North East, 1; Saskatoon, 15; Central East, 13; Regina, 9; and South Central, 7.

With 119 recoveries, there are now 1,142 cases considered active.  This is the lowest total since November 8, 2020.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 97 (7.9 per 100,000), the lowest active case total since November 8, 2020.

There are 102 people in hospital.  83 are receiving inpatient care with 19 in intensive care including one out-of-province transfer from Manitoba.

Saskatchewan is expecting to receive 74,880 doses of Pfizer and 3,000 doses of Moderna this week.
