41 foot high windmill stolen near Vibank

Indian Head RCMP are trying to find the persons responsible for the theft of an item you wouldn’t normally have on a list of things to be stolen.

They say a nearly 100-year-old windmill that stands 41 feet tall and is made of galvanized steel was stolen from a rural property near Vibank sometime between May 16 and 19.

The windmill is missing a fan blade, has bullet holes in it and the word “Chicago” is written on the tail fin.

RCMP say equipment would have been needed to remove the structure from the property and that more than one person would have been needed.

Anyone with information is asked to call their nearest RCMP detachment or Crimestoppers.
