Two tickets for man who struck pedestrian with vehicle

The Regina Police Service says a 37-year-old man has been given two tickets after hitting a pedestrian with a vehicle on Thursday morning.

Officers were sent before 9:00 a.m. to Winnipeg Street and 13th Avenue after a report of a person being hit by a vehicle. Police arrived to find a man who had sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

According to police, witness reports indicated a vehicle struck the man and the driver got out of the vehicle to help out the pedestrian. When the victim refused, the driver returned to the vehicle and drove away.

RPS determined the driver’s identity and located him to issue a ticket for failing to stop for a pedestrian and another for failing to report the accident to police.
