A former MP is going to try and regain a seat in Ottawa.
Brad Trost, who was a Conservative MP in Saskatoon, before losing at his nomination meeting in 2019, has thrown his hat into the ring to become the Conservative candidate in Moose Jaw-Lake Centre-Lanigan.
In a release, Trost says his goal is not just to win in Moose Jaw-Lake Centre-Lanigan but to help the Conservatives win in the next election.
“No Conservative truly wins until we are back in government.” Trost said. “I want a principled Conservative government for all of Canada, I won’t be happy till that day comes.”
Current MP Tom Lukiwski announced last month he would not seek re-election.
Trost tried to become the leader of the federal Conservatives in 2017, but he finished 4th.
Kathryn Pollock has also announced her intentions to run for the nomination
