Regina Police Taser man threatening suicide with a knife

Regina Police say they were forced to Taser a man Monday evening, who was threatening suicide with a knife.

Officers were called to the 1000 block of Garnet Street in the city’s north central area around 7:30 p.m..

Police found the man holding the knife to his neck, and perceived the situation as one with a high risk of death or serious bodily harm, prompting the deployment of the Taser.

The man was then safely taken into custody and transported to the Regina General Hospital for further treatment.

Regina Police are asking anyone who knows more about the situation to contact them or Crime Stoppers.
