Metis Nation-Saskatchewan holding election on Saturday

It’s election day in Saskatchewan for Metis citizens. There are 35 polling stations across the province to vote for the Metis Nation – Saskatchewan President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary and each district’s regional director.

Earlier this year, the MN-S legislated that citizens would need an MN-S card or a letter from the registrar indicating they are eligible to vote before they can cast their ballots.

Chief Electoral Officer Gwen LaFond says there are just over 16,000 eligible voters for this election.

The polls are open until 8 p.m.
