179 new cases of COVID-19 in Sask; One additional death

There are 179 new cases of COVID-19  in Saskatchewan, bringing the provincial total to 46,464 cases.  

One new death is reported today in the 50-59 age group from the Regina zone.

The highest case numbers come from Saskatoon with 38, followed by Regina with 27, and the North West with 21.

Recoveries total 44,519 and 1,408 cases are considered active.

There are 113 people in hospital, the lowest total in hospital since November 28, 2020. 89 people are receiving inpatient care, 24 people are in intensive care.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case numbers is 129.

An additional 12,923 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 706,548.
