Regina man facing kidnapping charges after domestic dispute

A Regina man has been charged with kidnapping and uttering threats after an incident Thursday afternoon.

At approximately, 2:20 pm, police responded to a domestic-related weapons offence at a business on the 200 block of Albert Street North.

A woman reported that her ex-intimate-partner had gone to her workplace and got into her vehicle when she was seated inside. It’s alleged the man threatened her with an edged weapon and demanded that she drive away.

A co-worker came to her aid and the suspect fled on foot. The victim did not sustain any physical injuries. At the time the victim was making her report, police already had the man in custody on related domestic warrant.

Because this is a domestic-related incident, the name of the suspect won’t be released, to avoid the victim being identified.

The suspect is charged with kidnapping, uttering threats, breach of undertaking, and breach of probation.

The accused made his first appearance in court on Friday morning.
