Canada applauds easing of restrictions on beef exports

Canada is applauding a new international health ruling on Canadian beef exports.

Federal agriculture minister Marie-Claude Bibeau says the ruling reduces bse restrictions on Canadian beef shipments.

She says Canada has achieved negligible risk status for bse.

Bibeau is hoping the ruling will lead to improved Canadian beef exports to countries like the U.S., China, Mexico and Viet Nam.
