Outdoor camps allowed once Step Two of reopening plan begins

A number of recommendations and protocols are being attached, but the province says overnight child and youth camps will be allowed once Step Two of its reopening plan begins June 20.

Campers are being told they should have an adequate supply of masks, wipes and hand sanitizer that are approved while at camp.  Screening should happen before the camp starts and testing is recommended for all staff, volunteers and campers before the camp begins.  In addition,  staff, volunteers and campers should not be taking part  if they feel sick or have any COVID-19 symptoms.

Once camp is underway, two metres of physical distancing must be maintained while children and youth are being transported to camp and masks must be worn at all times in vehicles when transporting kids to camp,

While not mandatory, cohorts of eight or fewer campers is being recommended and sharing items between cohorts should be limited.

The complete list of guidelines can be found here.
