On Sunday, around 4:00 pm, Regina Police responded to an call of people drinking in the alley of the 1700 block of Mcintyre Street.
When police arrived, they found one and two women. One of the women was holding a needle in her hand as she advanced towards police. Despite being told to stop and drop the needle several time, she continued to advance, throwing the needle at police while holding her other hand behind her back.
Police perceived immediate need to control the woman, and due to the risk of death or serious injury, they deployed their taser. The woman was uninjured and transported to detention.
As a result, 33-year-old Loni Roz Gagnon has been charged with assaulting a peace officer with a weapon.
She will make her first appearance in court on Tuesday morning.
