SaskPower estimates over 600 people without power overnight Saturday

SaskPower estimates that just over 600 customers were without power overnight as restoration efforts continue after Thursday’s ice storm.

In a release from SaskPower, they say power was restored for the vast majority of primary line, and the bulk of customers without service are from damaged secondary lines or service masts.

They add Melville has become the main area of focus as there are large numbers of customers without power there.

With damage to secondary lines, customers need to hire electricians to conduct the repair. SaskPower crews are only able to do a temporary fix.

SaskPower thanks customers for the continued patience.
