Regina Humane Society holding “Be an Adoptimist” event as an influx of cats arrive

Like most springs, the Regina Humane Society is seeing a significant increase in the amount of cats in their care.

To try and alleviate the pressure they’re holding a special adoption event called, “Be an Adoptimist” until Sunday, May 23.

The Humane Society’s Bill Thorn said right now there are about 175 animals in their care, on top of that many more will be retuning from foster homes in the near future.

Thorn said the adoption fee still includes everything it would at full price.

“That $25 adoption fee still includes everything that always comes with adoptions at the Regina Humane Society, that’s a spay/neuter surgery, a tattoo for identification, a micro chip for identification, vaccinations and as well a complete veterinarian exam to make sure the animal is healthy and good to go,” Thorn said.

Thorn said same day adoption appointments can be made by calling 306-543-6363.

“So if you were thinking about adopting in the next few weeks, maybe reconsider and do it now, save yourself a little bit of money and help us find some space and get animals into good homes.” Thorn said.
