Highway 55 re-opened, power restored as Cloverdale fire now “contained”

With the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency officially saying the Cloverdale wildfire northeast of Prince Albert is contained, SaskPower was also able to announce Thursday night that all repairs in the area have been completed as well.

In a release the Crown said that as of 9:10 p.m. all power that had been knocked out because of the fire had been restored.

RCMP also said that Highway 55 has been re-opened in the area.

A temporary reduced speed limit of 60 km/hr has been enacted as crews continue to work to fully extinguish the blaze.

At last report late Thursday morning, the size of the fire was measured at 5,583 hectares.
