Dangerous driver arrested by Regina police after weapon call

A 31-year-old Regina man is in custody after he was caught driving dangerously in the city early Thursday morning.

Regina police officers were originally dispatched at 7:00 a.m. to the 500 block of Cityview Crescent after receiving a report of an individual leaving in a vehicle in possession of a firearm.

Officers later saw the man driving a vehicle dangerously where he was speeding, driving through red lights and driving into oncoming traffic.

A spike belt was used to stop the vehicle, but the suspect abandoned the vehicle in an alley on the 1300 block of Angus Street. Police later found the suspect hiding in a yard on the 1300 block of Angus Street where he was arrested without incident. Officers also located the firearm.

Frederick Brass faces seven charges including dangerous driving and possession of a loaded or restricted firearm. He made his first court appearance on these charges Friday morning.
